Are Herbal Cigarettes Safer Than Their Predecessors?

Are Herbal Cigarettes Safer Than Their PredecessorsAs an alternative to the notorious cancer stick, some parties have elected to come up with new methods on how to address the need for a smoke without associated risks. Herbal cigarettes supposedly alleviate concerns regarding tobacco smoking and the bad image painted by those who are focused on a smokeless environment. The general consumer is constantly bombarded with information that implies tobacco and nicotine are taboo to one’s life.

Hence, the impression of smoking devices which are free of these elements is taken to be acceptable and safe. This is however far from the truth as the danger lies not only in the elements within as well as the action itself.

As a substitute to tobacco products, the contents of these alternative smokes are normally a combination of plant materials. Herbs, spices, flowers and leaves usually constitute the general ingredients of fillers. To enhance the experience, some manufacturers may add flavoring agents made from natural or artificial ingredients.

Whichever the case may be, most manufacturers of these herbal cigarettes claim to exclude the notorious tobacco from their products. As such, they impart the notion of safe smoking as there is supposedly no association with nicotine.

Although nicotine is an element which plays a major role in addiction to smoking, it is not the only factor in play. By replacing its presence with other substances, it is just a case of the revolving door effect. Even though one is spared the health risks associated with tobacco smoking and bad dental hygiene courtesy of nicotine, there is still a degree of health concern with this substitute to tobacco cigarettes.

Whenever any substance is burnt, it releases gases which can be harmful to the human body when inhaled. Heated smoke sometimes burns sensitive tissue in the course of inhalation and exhalation. These gases also leave behind toxic residue as they course through respiratory organs in the human body. The only safe thing about these types of cigarettes is that the jury is still out in ascertaining their viability for healthy consumption.
